Have you ever been standing near the water when the sun cuts a swath right through the surface? The rays of light slice through the bubbles and debris illuminating all that swims below. This necklace is my interpretation of that moment.
Each component has been repurposed, given new life. Starting from the top: the chain, including the swirly clasp, came from an old necklace I took apart because, I'll be honest, it wasn't very good; the little bubbles were once intended to be post earrings; the pebble is a recycled ingot of silver; the fish outline is what remains after I make one of my Swedish Fish necklaces; the mixed metal rays of light are the trimmed ends off the little spoons I make... everything could have been discarded, cast aside. But I saw value and purpose in the debris and made something NEW!
