Completely one of a kind!

Created from my own scrap, I have fused* bits of silver together until a strip of silver is formed. Due to the nature of fusing scrap silver the results are quite unpredictable. When I start a ring, I select scrap pieces to fit a specific look, but really, anything can happen when the silver turns molten... Once I have a strip of silver I shape it into a ring on my ring mandrel with a rawhide hammer. The ends get soldered together, ensuring there are no snags on loose ends. Lastly, if the ring begs for a stone, I choose the right one and find the perfect spot for the stone to sit.

*Fusing is to heat the silver with a torch until it is at the point of becoming liquid-hot. When two pieces of silver reach the same temperature, they join together without the aid of solder. Not enough heat and the pieces won't join together. Too much heat and both pieces quickly become a molten orb. The joy in fusing is walking that fine line between creating something and ending up with a huge ball of silver.

This turquoise Phoenix ring is the exact ring you will receive. In an attempt to maintain the wild and rustic look of fused silver I didn't form the ring exactly round which makes it difficult to size it exactly. It measures approximately US 8.25. The sweet little turquoise is 4mm.
